Biography

Nicole Johnson, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in chronic disease management and preventive care for Type 2 diabetes, anxiety, depression, obesity, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

Dr. Johnson earned her medical degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She completed a residency in internal medicine at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Medical Women’s Association, the C.V. Roman Medical Society, and the National Medical Association.

She has published peer-reviewed academic articles and abstracts related to her areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Johnson enjoys traveling and sampling international cuisine, learning Spanish, mentoring youth, reading, hiking, and watching movies.
