Biography
Nikesh Patel, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in interventional spine procedures, neuromodulation, and ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided musculoskeletal injections.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He performed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation, serving as Chief Resident, at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he also completed a fellowship in interventional spine medicine. While there, Dr. Patel served as team physician for local high school football teams, regularly treated UCLA athletes, and participated in annual musculoskeletal training for UCLA medical students.
Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists.
Personal Note
When he’s not working, Dr. Patel enjoys playing soccer, camping, traveling, and snowboarding.
