Biography

Omar Nofal, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of patients with epilepsy, interpretation of video-electroencephalography (vEEG), and the presurgical evaluation of drug-resistant cases.

Dr. Nofal earned his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, where he also completed a residency in general neurology and an adult and pediatric epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology fellowship. He received additional advanced training through an epilepsy fellowship at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at UT Southwestern.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

Dr. Nofal is a member of the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology. He has published original research articles and case reports related to his areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Nofal enjoys hiking, photography, and videography.
