Biography

Pedro Gonzalez Jimenez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric urgent care and ultrasound.

Dr. González earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital and received advanced training through fellowships in pediatric urgent care and pediatric ultrasound at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.

Dr. González is a member of the American Pediatric Association, serving as Chair of its urgent care special interest group. He is also the co-founder and CEO of the Health Come True Foundation, an international nonprofit that provides pediatric healthcare to underserved communities outside of the United States.

In 2023, he earned the Emory School of Medicine’s Educator Appreciation Day Recognition.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. González enjoys traveling and spending time with his dogs.
