Biography

Rachna Goswami, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of General Internal Medicine. She specializes in palliative care, especially advance care planning and symptom management for patients with serious illness.

Dr. Goswami completed her medical degree at Northwestern University, where she also earned a master's degree in public health. She performed her residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she served as Chief Resident in Quality and Safety, and gained advanced training in hospice and palliative medicine through a fellowship at Duke University. She also holds a bachelor's degree in neuroscience from the University of Michigan and a graduate certificate in health information technology from Cornell University.

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Goswami joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

She is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Geriatrics Society.

Dr. Goswami’s research interests include palliative care, quality improvement, and clinical ethics. She has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
