Biography

Rupini Alla, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in primary care and sleep medicine.

Dr. Alla earned her medical degree at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Michigan. She completed a residency in family medicine at UT Southwestern and received advanced training through a sleep medicine fellowship at Stanford Medicine.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in sleep medicine and the American Board of Family Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

Dr. Alla serves as the Co-Director of Didactics for the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern.

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Her research has been published in leading journals, including Journal of the American Heart Association and Sleep.

In 2024, she earned UT Southwestern’s Distinction in Sleep Medicine Award.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Alla enjoys traveling, experiencing nature, and trying new restaurants.
