Ryan Bishop, M.D.

Biography

Ryan Bishop, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric and fetal echocardiography.

Dr. Bishop earned his medical degree at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He completed a residency in pediatrics at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center Dallas, where he served as Chief Resident. He received advanced training through fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric advanced cardiac imaging at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric cardiology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

Dr. Bishop is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. In addition, he is a member of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the Fetal Heart Society.

In 2025, he earned the American Society of Echocardiography Foundation’s Top Investigator Travel Grant.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Bishop enjoys going on walks with his family, playing basketball, and playing guitar.
