Biography
Sandra Shields, M.S.N., APRN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine – Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Originally from El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Shields completed her undergraduate degree at El Paso Community College in 2013, her bachelor's degree in 2020 from the University of Texas at Arlington, and her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2024.
With more than 12 years of nursing experience, Mrs. Shields has worked in various areas including intensive care and cardiac care. As a dedicated nurse practitioner, her mission is to empower individuals through education, support and compassion, helping them take an active role in their health.
Mrs. Shields is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
