Biography

Scott S. Shafiei, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in hospital medicine.

Dr. Shafiei earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch, and he completed an internal medicine residency at Baylor University Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Shafiei joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. He previously served as a hospitalist at St. David’s HealthCare.

Dr. Shafiei is a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.

His clinical interests include general internal medicine, quality improvement, and medical education. He has delivered several presentations and published peer-reviewed articles on those topics and has served as a manuscript reviewer for the Textbook of Cardiorenal Medicine and the journal Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Shafiei enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, hiking, traveling, and listening to music.
