Biography

Sharjeel Syed, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in hospital medicine.

After earning his medical degree at Stanford Medical School, Dr. Syed completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Syed’s clinical interests include hematology and oncology, with a focus on benign and malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant and cell therapy, and health disparities.

He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. An active researcher, he has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented widely on his research.

Personal Note

When he is not at work, Dr. Syed enjoys playing and watching basketball, reading, playing board games, and trying out new places to eat.
