Biography

Shova Gurung, M.S., APRN, AGNP-C, is a certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Prior to transitioning to general internal medicine, Ms. Gurung worked in a private primary care setting, providing care for adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of clinical needs. In that role, she developed a passion for chronic care management and for working with patients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Ms. Gurung believes in compassionate, holistic, evidence-based care. She emphasizes shared decision-making, patient education and empowering individuals to make the best choices for managing chronic conditions and overall health. Her clinical interests include chronic care management, obesity management, women’s health and caring for patients from different cultural backgrounds. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Women’s Alliance Business Resource Group at UT Southwestern.
