Biography
Sudha Somasundaravelayudham, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the effective use of medical resources, patient safety, mortality reviews, and improving electronic medical records.
Dr. Somasundaravelayudham earned her medical degree at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangalore, India, and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.
Dr. Somasundaravelayudham is a member of several professional associations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association. She serves on the Quality Improvement (QI) Committee for the internal medicine hospitalist division at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
She has published several academic articles.
In 2019, Dr. Somasundaravelayudham received the Heart of Gold Award from the Patient Experience Committee at Parkland.
