Biography

Tony Garcia, M.S., APRN, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC, ACCNS-BC, is an acute care nurse practitioner in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management, Division of Critical Care, at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

After a 30-year career as a firefighter, paramedic, and arson investigator, Mr. Garcia received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. He then earned his Master of Science in the Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care dual-track AG-ACNP/CNS program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 2014. In 2016, he earned a post-master's certificate as a family nurse practitioner at the UT Tyler School of Nursing.

He is a member of several professional organizations, and volunteers his time providing care to uninsured and underserved populations through the North Dallas Assistance Ministries.
