Biography

Yuming (Yumes) Li, O.D., is a Faculty Associate in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric optometry, and neuro-optometry.

Dr. Li graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He completed optometry externships at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and the Southern Arizona Veterans Administration Health Care System in Tucson, Arizona.

Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023, he served as assistant chief of optometry services at William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

Dr. Li is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

He has delivered lectures and presentations, and published case reports related to his areas of expertise.

The recipient of numerous awards for his service in the U.S. Army, Dr. Li also earned a 2022 Customer Service Award and a 2021 Outstanding Provider Award from William Beaumont Army Medical Center.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Li enjoys traveling, playing golf, and watching Ohio State Buckeye football.
