An innovative procedure known as osseointegration is giving amputee patients at UT Southwestern a new lease on life. Orthopedic surgeon Alexandra Callan, M.D. and plastic surgeon Jonathan Cheng, M.D. work together sculpting tissue and attaching the bone anchored prosthesis. The implant allows for natural movement and control, offering newfound mobility to those unable to tolerate traditional prosthetics.
