Biography

Alissar El Chediak, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in transplant nephrology, especially kidney, dual organ, and pancreas transplants.

Dr. El Chediak earned her medical degree at the American University of Beirut, where she also completed her internal medicine residency. In addition, she gained advanced training through fellowships in nephrology and transplantation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. El Chediak’s clinical interests include incompatible-blood-type kidney transplants and simultaneous kidney and pancreas transplants.

She has published several peer-reviewed academic articles, abstracts, and case reports related to her areas of expertise.

She is a member of the American Society of Transplantation and its Kidney Pancreas Community of Practice.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. El Chediak enjoys functional strength training, traveling, and shopping.
