Biography

Amber Gemmell, M.S., CGC,is a senior genetic counselor in the Cancer Genetics Program. She joined the UT Southwestern Medical Center Cancer Genetics program in 2016 after graduating with her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of Minnesota. She sees patients at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes at multiple clinics in North Texas.

In addition to her clinical role, Amber is the cancer genetics course instructor for the UT Southwestern Genetic Counseling Program. She has a passion for working with prospective genetic counseling students and is actively involved in educational initiatives for students, patients, and the community. Amber shares her passion for the field through active involvement in the Texas Society of Genetic Counselors and the National Society of Genetic Counselors where she has served in leadership positions.
