Biography

Anthony Bavry, M.D., M.P.H, is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Director of the Structural Heart Program at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. He specializes in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Bavry earned his medical degree at the University of Florida and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Arizona. He received advanced training in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology through separate fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic. He also holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard University.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Bavry is an Associate Editor of ACC.org Clinical Trials, the prior Executive Editor of Clinical Cardiology, and a current editorial board member of Clinical Cardiology

He has edited and contributed to numerous books, published scores of academic articles, and delivered invited lectures worldwide.

In 2019, Dr. Bavry received the Fellow’s Choice Award from the American College of Cardiology’s Florida Chapter
