Biography

Avra Miriam Louis, D.D.S., is an Assistant Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Louis earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in the top 1% of her class. After practicing general dentistry in New York, Connecticut, and elsewhere for many years, she relocated to Dallas and joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Since graduating in 1992, her practice has focused on providing comforting and compassionate care to patients of all ages, while maintaining the highest standards of dental care through continuing education and a lifelong commitment to excellence.

Dr. Louis has been a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. She has delivered several lectures and presentations related to the clinical practice of general and hospital-based dentistry.

She is also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
