Physicians at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic are dedicated to improving the oral, maxillofacial (lower face and jaws), and craniofacial (upper face and skull) health of our patients through service, education, and research. We provide the highest quality care using the safest, most effective treatments available in a setting where the patient is our most valuable asset.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at UT Southwestern Medical Center began under the guidance of Robert V. Walker, M.D., in 1952. At that time, we were primarily involved with oral surgery, such as pulling teeth, treating lower jaw fractures, and draining infections.
Over the years, as patients’ needs and hopes increased, so did our scope of care.
We have widened the boundaries of OMS to include cosmetic facial surgery and craniofacial surgery, with more than $20 million donated. Surgeons from Asia, Europe, and South America have visited to observe and to copy achievements gained here. Today, our clinic proudly stands looking forward to the best tomorrow it can bring to our community and to the patients it serves.
General Dentist
Dr. Louis's practice focuses on providing comforting and compassionate care to patients of all ages, while maintaining the highest standards of dental care through continuing education and a lifelong commitment to excellence. She specializes in general and restorative dentistry.
Orthodontist
Dr. Stinson advanced training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She specializes in orthodontic procedures and treatment including braces, Invisalign, expanders and retainers.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Philbert serves as Chief of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery, maxillofacial trauma, dental implants, and reconstruction.
