Biography

Carla Khalaf McStay, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the care of patients with serious illness.

Dr. Khalaf McStay earned her medical degree at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Texas A&M College of Medicine – Baylor Scott & White Health and received advanced training through a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

In addition, she holds a Master of Science in medical education from the University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Clinical Research Education.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in hospice and palliative medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.

Dr. Khalaf McStay is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She has delivered numerous lectures and presentations.
