Biography

Chase Knickerbocker, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in trauma and emergency general surgery, critical care, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and population health.

Dr. Knickerbocker earned his medical degree and a master’s degree in public health at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach and received advanced training in trauma and surgical critical care through a fellowship at UT Southwestern.

Board certified in surgery and surgical critical care, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Knickerbocker has delivered numerous presentations, contributed to the books Failed Anti-Reflux Therapy: Analysis of Causes and Principles of Treatment and A Mastery Approach to Complex Esophageal Diseases, and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

He is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Knickerbocker enjoys visiting national parks with his family, all things cars, and learning to cook new foods.
