Biography
Chinemerem Okwara, M.D., received his initial medical training at the University of Texas Health and Sciences Center at San Antonio, Texas. He performed his residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in the sunny land of enchantment at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where he stayed on as faculty for one year.
Dr. Okwara has an interest in general gastroenterology and small bowel bleeding.
He brings his passion for delivering quality care to his patients, and in sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of providers. He chose academic medicine because of the opportunity for lifelong learning in a constantly evolving field.
Personal Note
When Dr. Okwara is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his growing family and friends. He enjoys playing basketball, learning to play tennis, and traveling.
