Biography

Christine Liu, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in full-spectrum family medicine for adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients, including women’s health and obstetrics.

After earning her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine, Dr. Liu completed a residency in family medicine at In His Image in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She gained advanced training through a family obstetrics and gynecology fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.

Dr. Liu is the co-Director of the Obstetrics Curriculum for the Family Medicine Residency Program. She is also the Medical Informatics Officer for the Department of Family Medicine and the Course Director for Advanced Life Support Obstetrics.

In addition to her areas of clinical specialization, Dr. Liu is passionate about global health, medical missions, and care for the medically underserved, including special needs populations and refugees. Her research interests include quality improvement and spirituality and medicine.

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the American Board of Family Medicine, the Christian Medical & Dental Associations, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Liu enjoys watching Warriors basketball, reading biographies, traveling, and sampling international street food and hole-in-the-wall restaurant fare.
