Courtney Edwards, M.D.

Biography

Courtney Edwards, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in minimally invasive endocrine surgery, thyroid cancer, and parathyroid, thyroid, and adrenal conditions.

Dr. Edwards earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. She completed a residency in surgery at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania and received advanced training through an endocrine surgery fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.

Dr. Edwards is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons.

She has published peer-reviewed academic articles in journals such as American Journal of Surgery and Endocrine Practice.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Edwards enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her two sons, and enjoying her husband’s culinary skills.
