Daniel Killeen, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in neurotology, otology, and skull base surgery.
Dr. Killeen earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He completed a residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he also gained advanced training through a neurotology fellowship.
Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in head and neck surgery and neurology and otology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. He previously served on the otolaryngology-head and neck surgery faculties at Case Western Reserve University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as Director of Endoscopic Ear Surgery.
Dr. Killeen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Neurotology Society.
His research interests include endoscopic ear surgery, as well as the natural history and microsurgical and radiosurgical treatment of acoustic neuromas and vestibular schwannomas, with a particular interest in developing new medical treatments for vestibular schwannomas.
Dr. Killeen has presented at several national scientific meetings on topics in otology and neurotology, authored numerous publications in academic journals, and contributed to books, including Diagnosis and Treatment of Vestibular Disorders. He is also a reviewer for several academic journals, including Otology & Neurotology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
When he’s not at work, Dr. Killeen enjoys skiing, traveling, and trying new foods and recipes with his wife.
