Biography

Ivan Chew, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in minimally invasive spine procedures, image-guided peripheral nerve blocks and joint injections, neuromodulation, musculoskeletal medicine, and cancer-related pain conditions.

Dr. Chew earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at UT Southwestern and received advanced training in pain management through a fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Chew is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the North American Neuromodulation Society. He has delivered numerous national presentations.
