Biography
Jeffrey Schellinger, M.C.N., RD, is a health care operations leader with more than a decade of experience in academic ambulatory care. He currently serves as a Clinic Manager within UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Ambulatory Services, where he oversees daily operations of multispecialty clinics, including Endocrinology, Weight Wellness, Endo‑Ortho Podiatry, and Lipid & Metabolic Disorders. His work centers on optimizing access, strengthening workforce performance, and aligning clinical operations with institutional strategy.
Before transitioning into full-time operations leadership, Mr. Schellinger practiced as a Registered Dietitian and served as the Senior Program Coordinator in UT Southwestern’s Weight Wellness Program. As a clinician, he specialized in adult weight management and was previously board certified in Obesity and Weight Management. He provided medical nutrition therapy, supported interdisciplinary obesity and diabetes care, and contributed to metabolic health research efforts across campus. He also served as a guest lecturer and preceptor for clinical nutrition and physician‑training programs.
Mr. Schellinger’s path into health care began after completing undergraduate degrees in music education and molecular biology at the University of Houston and relocating to Dallas in 2011 for a research role at UT Southwestern. His personal experience with bariatric surgery inspired him to pursue direct patient care, leading to the completion of a Master of Clinical Nutrition from the UT Southwestern School of Health Professions in 2017.
In operations roles, Mr. Schellinger has led interdisciplinary teams, standardized scheduling practices across physician and APP groups, contributed to institutional committees focused on access and digital care optimization, and supported change efforts, including integration of clinical operations into Health System Affairs.
Mr. Schellinger is committed to building scalable clinical infrastructures, advancing workforce development, and strengthening operational foundations that improve patient access and care coordination across ambulatory specialties. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Healthcare Leadership at the University of Texas at Dallas, anticipated in 2027.
