Joanna Forbes, M.D.

Biography

Joanna Forbes, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in all aspects of general Ob/Gyn, including well-woman exams and minimally invasive Ob/Gyn surgery.

Dr. Forbes earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern and then worked in private practice for several years.

Dr. Forbes is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also certified in using the da Vinci Surgical System, giving her patients the option for minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgery.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018. Since 2023, Dr. Forbes has served as the Medical Director of the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Park Cities clinics. In this role, she works with clinical operations to help support the nine subspecialties at the Park Cities clinic site.

Dr. Forbes is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Forbes loves to travel with her husband, daughter, and son.
