Joanna Forbes, M.D.

Biography

Joanna Forbes, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Medical Director for the Park Cities clinic. She specializes in all aspects of general Ob/Gyn, including well-woman exams and minimally invasive Ob/Gyn surgery.

Dr. Forbes earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern and then worked in private practice for several years.

Dr. Forbes is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also certified in using the da Vinci Surgical System, giving her patients the option for minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgery.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.

Dr. Forbes is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has published several academic articles.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Forbes loves to travel with her husband, daughter, and son.
