Biography
Jonathan Vo, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in trauma and emergency general surgery, surgical critical care, and minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
Dr. Vo earned his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He completed a residency in general surgery at Riverside University Health Systems (RUHS), an affiliate of the University of California, Riverside, where he served as Chief Resident. He received advanced training through a surgical critical care fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and surgical critical care, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.
Dr. Vo is the Associate Trauma Medical Director at Texas Health Frisco. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Dallas County Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.
He has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles related to his areas of expertise.
In 2021, he was named Chief Resident of the Year in general surgery at RUHS.
Personal Note
When he’s not at work, Dr. Vo enjoys hiking, traveling, golfing, grilling, and spending time with his family.
