Biography

Margaret Gavor, M.D., M.P.H., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in chronic disease management, women’s health, and preventive care.

Dr. Gavor earned her medical degree at the University of Ghana Medical School and completed a residency in internal medicine at Piedmont Athens Regional hospital in Georgia. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in health leadership and management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Dr. Gavor is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians and The Obesity Society. Her research interests include diabetes, obesity medicine, and women's health.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Gavor enjoys spending time with her family, watching basketball, and exploring new cuisine.
