Biography

Minh Nguyen, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in interventional spine medicine.

Dr. Nguyen earned his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center and gained advanced training in interventional spine medicine through a fellowship at OrthoCarolina. He also holds a master’s degree in environmental and occupational health from St. George’s University.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Nguyen is a member of the Spine Intervention Society, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the North American Spine Society.

His clinical interests include evidence-based medicine, physician bedside manner and rapport, and interventional physiatry techniques. He has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys staying active, reading, and exploring new cuisines. He has always been involved in sports, particularly running, tennis, and hockey. He is a big fan of college football and hockey, and on Saturdays he can often be found yelling at his TV and rooting for his teams. He also enjoys cooking new recipes – although he says he won’t be quitting his day job just yet to be a chef.
