Biography

Mustafa Tunc, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in internal medicine.

Originally from Turkey, Dr. Tunc earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical School in Turkey. He completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Ohio.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. Prior to joining UT Southwestern, he served as a primary care physician at Swedish Medical Group in Redmond, Washington.

He is active in several professional and nonprofit societies, including the American College of Physicians and the Whitetulip Health Foundation, for which he serves as Residency Match Mentorship Director.

Dr. Tunc’s clinical interests include preventive health, men’s health, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and complex care management. He also focuses on educating internal medicine residents and medical students about primary care medicine.

Personal Note

When he’s not working, Dr. Tunc enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and playing several amateur sports.
