Biography

Parker Read, M.S., CGC, joined UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Cancer Genetics program in 2016. He sees patients at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes at multiple UT Southwestern clinics.

He received his Master of Science in genetic counseling from the University of Michigan.

His current research focuses on the genetic counseling workforce, with the goals of improving access to genetic services and helping to define areas in which genetics professionals can be best used. He is also passionate about professional education, and enjoys the opportunity to discuss the impact of genetic information with local medical providers and future clinicians.
