Biography
Paula Lomba, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in Ob/Gyn hospital medicine, labor management, care of Ob/Gyn emergencies, and quality and safety.
Dr. Lomba earned her medical degree at Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Puerto Rico. She completed a residency in Ob/Gyn at NYU Winthrop Hospital (now NYU Langone Hospital) in Mineola, New York, where she also gained advanced training through a fellowship in Ob/Gyn hospitalist medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.
Dr. Lomba has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles related to her areas of expertise. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
In 2018, Dr. Lomba received NYU Winthrop Hospital’s Best Resident Educator Award, as well as the AAGL Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
