Biography
Raaga Bean, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in palliative care.
Dr. Bean earned her medical degree at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Mississippi. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas at Tyler Health Science Center and received advanced training through a hospice and palliative care medicine fellowship at UT Southwestern.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Bean’s clinical interests include calciphylaxis and wellness.
She is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Fellows Advisory Committee for the UT Southwestern Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
Dr. Bean has delivered invited lectures and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
Personal Note
When she’s not at work, Dr. Bean enjoys playing tennis and ping-pong, Bollywood dancing, interior decorating, and cooking. She and her husband have a newborn baby and a Maltipoo named Thorr.
