Biography

Shifa Kanjwal, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in breast medical oncology and has particular interest in cancer survivorship and promoting equity in cancer care.

Dr. Kanjwal earned her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and received advanced training through a hematology oncology fellowship at UT Southwestern, where she served as Chief Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Kanjwal is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Kanjwal enjoys exploring national parks, hiking, and traveling with her family.
