Biography

Shifa Kanjwal, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in breast medical oncology and has particular interest in cancer survivorship.

Dr. Kanjwal earned her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and received advanced training through a hematology/oncology fellowship at UT Southwestern, where she served as Chief Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology and Oncology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Kanjwal is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group

Personal Note

Dr. Kanjwal remains committed to supporting her patients during a difficult time in their lives.  When she’s not at work, she enjoys hiking and traveling with her family.
