Biography
Teale Muir, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in complex benign gynecology, treating difficult conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids.
Dr. Muir earned her medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and received advanced training through a minimally invasive gynecological surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.
Dr. Muir is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of several professional associations, including the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Her research has been published in leading journals, including Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
In 2023, she received the International Pelvic Pain Society’s Patient Advocate Reporter Award.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Muir enjoys walking her dog, working out, and traveling.
