Biography

Thu Tran, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in family medicine and integrative medicine.

Dr. Tran earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern. She completed a residency in family medicine at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where she also received advanced training through an integrative medicine fellowship.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Integrative Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Tran serves as Medical Director of the Parkland Integrated Pain and Healing Clinic. Her clinical interests include care for immigrant and refugee patients. She is fluent in medical Spanish and Vietnamese.

She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.

In 2024, Dr. Tran was named Faculty Mentor of the Year by the HCA Houston Healthcare West Family Medicine Residency Program.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Tran enjoys gardening, hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband and son.
