Put me in, Coach: Sports Medicine Clinic keeps you in the game

Prevention

Whether you’re a year-round athlete who’s out there rain or shine, or someone who gets off the couch only when summer reruns start showing up on television, you need a “go-to” place when sports injuries occur.

UT Southwestern’s Sports Medicine Clinic at the Medical Center Richardson/Plano offers a comprehensive approach to the care of athletes, from professionals to elite amateurs to neighborhood joggers.

“We work to pinpoint the underlying cause of any injury suffered during training, games, or normal exercise,” says Katherine Coyner, M.D., one of three sports medicine specialists at the Clinic. “We can then provide immediate, effective treatment options to manage each patient’s issues.”

UTSW’s sports medicine doctors serve professional and amateur sports organizations throughout North Texas, as well as many school-based sports programs.

Among the services available at the Richardson/Plano clinic:

  • Casting and functional bracing
  • Medical management and nonsurgical treatments
  • Rehabilitation and physical therapy
  • AlterG antigravity treadmill sessions
  • Ultrasound injections
  • Shock wave therapy
  • X-ray and laboratory services
