Even after discharge, UT Southwestern’s inpatient rehabilitation units are working for you.
- Support groups and ongoing referrals to UT Southwestern providers are available, and will be reviewed with you before your discharge from our unit.
- We will contact you for your thoughts about your stay in rehabilitation.
- Patient and family education is a primary goal during your stay on our inpatient rehabilitation units, and you will leave with educational and medication management materials in your “My Health Portfolio” binder.
- Psychiatry and psychology services after rehabilitation: UT Southwestern is home to one of the premier centers in the world for the study, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders for people of all ages.

Support Groups and Resources
- Stroke Support Group: “The Journey” meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 4 – 5 p.m. on Zoom. Our group is open to stroke survivors and their family members. We discuss a variety of topics related to improving quality of life after having a stroke. Contact Audra Rabroker by email to sign up.
- Dallas Acquired Brain Injury Support Group: Meets the first Tuesday of each month from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Both family and ABI/TBI survivors are welcome. We meet in person (masks required) and on Zoom. For in-person meeting location, the Zoom link, or other questions, please send an email to dabisg@utsouthwestern.edu.
- Spinal Cord Injury Support Group: Meets the first Thursday of every month from 1 – 2 p.m. at Parkland Hospital in the private dining room. For more information and to RSVP, email SCIsupport@phhs.org.
- Adaptive Sports Expo: This free annual event is designed to increase awareness of adaptive sports and promote active, healthy, and engaged lifestyles. People of all ages and ability levels are invited to attend. Learn about this year's event, and visit us on Facebook and Instagram.
