Biography

Amanda Dann, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in surgical oncology for melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers, and sarcoma.

Dr. Dann earned her medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery and a research fellowship in surgical oncology at the Ronald Reagan University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident for Education. She also completed a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Dann conducts laboratory and translational research to study cancer metabolism and novel therapies for melanoma and sarcoma. She has delivered presentations at national and international meetings and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.

She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the Association for Academic Surgery, the Transatlantic Australasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group, and the Connective Tissue Oncology Society.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Dann enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
