Biography

Ashley Twyman, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is a nocturnist specializing in general internal medicine and hospital medicine.

Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Twyman holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, and she completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Twyman is a member of UT Southwestern’s Medical Education Committee. She serves as the medical team lead for the United States Australian Football League international teams, the Revolution and the Freedom.

Her clinical interests include general internal medicine and sports medicine. Her clinical activities are based at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Zale-Lipshy Pavilion, and Texas Health Frisco.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Twyman enjoys spending time with family and friends. She bakes and decorates cakes, coaches and plays ultimate frisbee, plays Australian rules football with the North Texas Devils, plays flag football with the Red Flags, and plays pickleball with her father.
