Biography

Betul Bat, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in preventive care and chronic disease management.

Dr. Bat earned her medical degree at Istanbul University in Turkey. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Western Reserve Health Education and Northeast Ohio Medical University. She gained advanced training through a geriatrics fellowship at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in geriatric medicine and internal medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

Dr. Bat is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society, the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Whitetulip Health Foundation.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Bat enjoys hiking in the mountains and at the beach with her three children. She also enjoys making wood-burning crafts.
