Biography

Jeremy Bartley, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in corneal and external eye diseases, cataract and refractive surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology. 

Dr. Bartley earned his medical degree at East Tennessee State University. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University and received advanced training in corneal and external eye disease and keratorefractive surgery through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. 

Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016.

Dr. Bartley is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Bartley's journey into ophthalmology began during his medical school years at East Tennessee State University.

"I was fascinated by how life-changing these procedures can be," he says. "From helping people regain sight with cataract surgery to performing corneal transplants, it's gratifying to see the immediate impact on a patient's quality of life."

After completing his residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University, Dr. Bartley chose to pursue advanced training in corneal and external eye disease and keratorefractive surgery through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. He found the faculty to be top-notch and genuinely supportive, fostering an environment of trust and excellence.

"When deciding to stay on after my fellowship, I was drawn to the opportunity to work at a renowned teaching hospital with the latest technology, cutting-edge equipment, and access to clinical trials,” Dr. Bartley says. “Additionally, I felt comfortable with everyone I was working with, from the other doctors to the clinical staff, and I enjoyed living in Dallas. It all made my decision an easy one."
