Genetic testing for breast cancer could benefit more women

John Zimmerman, M.S., CGC, joined UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Cancer Genetics program in 2017. He earned a Master of Science degree in genetic counseling from the University of Minnesota in 2017.
His research interests are focused on the provision of genetic services among non-genetics health care providers, and disparities in access to genetic services and recommended medical management among patients with hereditary cancer syndromes.
In addition to his clinical and research activities, John is an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Texas Society of Genetic Counselors. He enjoys patient education and community outreach, and is eager to increase genetic counseling awareness and access.
