Lena Tran, M.D.

Biography

Lena Tran, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in women's cardiology, vascular medicine, and peripheral artery disease, with a special focus on spontaneous coronary artery dissection and fibromuscular dysplasia.

Dr. Tran earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and received advanced training through cardiology and vascular medicine fellowships at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.

Dr. Tran serves on the American Heart Association’s writing group and its Council on Clinical Cardiology’s Women's Health Science Committee, as well as the Society for Vascular Medicine’s Education and Next Generation committees. Additionally, Dr. Tran is a faculty adviser for the UT Southwestern Internal Medicine Residency Program’s cardiology interest group.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Tran enjoys traveling, hiking, climbing, trying new foods, and making espresso.
