Biography

Naveed Khokhar, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in neuropsychiatry and interventional psychiatry.

Dr. Khokhar earned his medical degree at King Edward Medical University in Pakistan. He performed both his residency in psychiatry and fellowship in consultation and liaison psychiatry at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He also completed a fellowship in transcranial magnetic stimulation at Duke University.

Board certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Khokhar manages the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit for acutely ill patients at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Society of Biological Psychiatry. He has contributed to the books The Cleveland Clinic Way, Cognitive Behavior Therapy Manual, and Parkinson’s Disease: Current and Future Therapeutic Clinical Trials.

In 2015, Dr. Khokhar received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award from the Department of Psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
