Biography

Pamela De La Cruz Rivera, M.D., Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. De La Cruz Rivera earned her medical degree and doctoral degree in molecular biology at UT Southwestern Medical School. After completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern, she joined the faculty in 2024.

Her clinical interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, pregnancy and postpartum care, labor management, and the management of common gynecologic conditions. She provides comprehensive contraceptive counseling and services, including IUD insertions with local anesthetic and female sterilization. Her practice also includes the evaluation and treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal Pap test management, hysteroscopy, and hysterectomy. She has published several articles in academic journals and delivered numerous presentations related to her areas of expertise.

She is an advocate for adequate pain management in the office and offers pain control for office procedures, including IUD insertion, colposcopy, and endometrial biopsy.

She is bilingual and welcomes Spanish-speaking patients to her practice.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. De La Cruz Rivera enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and dog.
